Richard Orlinski

Self-taught French sculptor, creator of the Born Wild universe.

The artist

Biography

Monumental, faceted, instantly recognizable

Richard Orlinski is one of the best-selling living French contemporary artists. Since his debut in 2004 with a red crocodile — the opening gesture of his Born Wild universe — his faceted sculptures have defined a language of their own: monumental in ambition, immediate in impact, and conceived to exist beyond the gallery.

His bestiary — Wild Kong, Panther, Howling Wolf, Standing Bear, Crocodile — spans resin, bronze, aluminium, chrome and mirror finishes, in limited editions. Named Officer of Arts and Letters by the French Republic in 2021, he has collaborated with more than 25 brands, including Puma, Hublot, Bose and Breitling.

From sculpture to canvas

Alongside his sculptures, Richard Orlinski paints large-format canvases where his Kong and his bestiary meet the colour and energy of street art.

A painting from this series, Kong Graff (2021), is on view at the showroom.

A love story with Beverly Hills

Richard Orlinski's love story with Beverly Hills began in 2023, when his sculptures took over Rodeo Drive. Since then, the city has become a second home for his Born Wild bestiary.

The showroom at Arc is the continuation of that relationship: a year-round address for his work on Wilshire Boulevard, in partnership with Markowicz Fine Art.
